Season 22 of Dreamleague is ending this Sunday when champions will be crowned, new or old. This season of Dreamleague is the last big tournament before ESL One Birmingham 2024 hits the stage in April.
For most of the Dota 2 gamblers, Dreamleague is entering its final stage, playoffs. But let’s check out and analyze the current status of the tournament and what happened in the previous stage.
Dota 2 Dreamleague Group Stage 2 – Review
After 49 best of 3’s, we finally got 4 teams that advanced onto the final stage – playoffs. Competition in the group stage was so fierce, so let’s see the current status:
Team Falcons (7-0) – upper bracket final
BetBoom Team (5-2) – upper bracket final
Team Spirit (4-3) – lower bracket semifinal
Xtreme Gaming (4-3) – lower bracket semifinal
Gaimin Gladiators (3-4) – eliminated
OG (3-4) – eliminated
Shopify Rebellion (2-5) – eliminated
Aurora (0-7) – eliminated
When we analyze potential favorites of this tournament, we can see that the 4th favorite to win the tournament, Azure Ray, is not even in stage 2. They have dropped out in stage 1, and that shows how the strong competition is. The Falcons were the 3rd favorite to win it all, right before the tournament started. But, during this stage, they have proven that they are the strongest team in this competition. Still, without a loss, they’ve managed to get through stage 2 without a loss. Clean 7-0 record with just 1 map lost, out of 15. Incredible.
The 2nd favorite of the tournament, according to our outright odds before, were Gaimin Gladiators. They didn’t make it. With 3 wins and 4 losses, out of 7 matches, they finished group stage 2 in 5th place. 4 straight losses vs top competitors like BetBoom, Xtreme Gaming, Falcons, and even Shopify Rebellion, showed that they cannot cope with top teams anymore. Their plays are not even as good as before, and I’m pretty sure they will need to make some changes in the near future, to stay among top teams.
My first favorite was Team Spirit. They have entered the playoffs, but they have struggled a lot. Their loss vs the Gaimin Gladiators and Falcons was just disappointing. They were destroyed. However, the peak of their 2nd stage was a match vs BetBoom which they managed to win, 2-1. Against all the odds, BetBoom dropped a CIS classic series. But let’s stay straight, I wouldn’t say that means that they are a stronger team at this point. Overall, BetBoom’s performance was much better during the 2nd stage.
Dota 2 Dreamleague Playoffs – Betting Guide
Another good thing is, we will watch the best of 3 playoffs, with the best of 5 grand finals. And that’s always my favorite part of the tournaments. Nothing is left to luck in the playoffs, as teams show their A game. We will watch 3 best of 3 matches and one best of 5 grand finals. So 4 matches in total, enough playroom for betting fans to place your bets.
Suggested bets for the playoffs:
Money line (winner)
+1.5 handicaps
Map winners (live – after the draft)
Regarding my predictions, I believe that the Falcons still have it. They just showed dominance, and it seems like this is their time to shine. Nobody managed to come even close to them regarding rotations, gameplay, picks, and aggressiveness. ATF is maybe having the tournament of his life, and with skaters in position 1, they are looking insanely good.
For the other 3 teams, they are in a situation that everybody can beat, I believe. In the end, I believe BetBoom or Xtreme Gaming will join the Falcons in the grand finals. Then, anything is possible.
